Hi Everyone, i have downloaded the 10.5.1 AMD leopard, when i try and boot the disk it first takes me to a screen which says "Press any key to continue or F8 to do a command" or something similar. Then it shows a Black Screen with quite large text and a few lines come up with something like HFS+. After this another blackscreen with quite small white text comes up and eventually crashes.

I have an AMD 3000+ which supports SSE2 and a Biostar 754 port K8-VGA (URL: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/mb/content.php?S_ID=210)

I would also like the MD5 for the iso to see if it has been correctly downloaded.

Thanks!

You have a SSE2 cpu and you need inject a SSE2 kernel into the iso.

SSE2 KERNEL (http://tinyurl.com/32tddt)

1. Mount the Zephy Iso
2. Open Disc Utility
3. Click on New Image as Kernel and save to the desktop (4,7).
4. In disc utility, select the kernel image and click the restore tab
5. Drag the mounted Zephyroth to the Restore from field
6. Drag the mounted Kernel to the Restore to field
7. Click Restore and wait
8. Replace The mach_kernel for the new one
9. Click on New Image
10.Name the image as Mac Os X (4,7 & save on desktop!!)
11.Select the Mac Os X image and click the restore tab
12.Drag the mounted Kernel to the Restore from field
13.Drag the mounted Mac Os X to the Restore to field
14. Click Restore and wait

Either restore it to a spare partition on your drive, or burn it to disc then use that to boot off it and install as usual fresh install.

like an image or restore to a spare partition to install from there, when the install finishes, you will have to inject again the kernel to the root of your leo drive.

I noticed that not every DVD-ROM will read it on certain media. My two Toshiba ODD-DVD SD-1802 won't read from a DVD-R, it works from a DVD+RW in this drive, but slooow.
