After my system running pretty well I decided to install EFI. Now after a few hours of uptime I'm getting some weird movement from my mouse. It is very jolty and jagged instead of being smooth. I checked the console logs and here is what I'm getting..

Feb 15 17:02:39 davos-acpi kernel[0]: IOHIDSystem::relativePointerEventGated: Unwanted Direction Change X: oldDx=-1 dx=0
Feb 15 17:02:42 davos-acpi kernel[0]: IOHIDSystem::relativePointerEventGated: Unwanted Direction Change X: oldDx=0 dx=0

anyone know what is going on or how to fix this? I'm using 10.5.1, the only thing I've modified is installing the 10.5.2 geforce kexts using the nvidia installer v33.

Thatīs the problem, you need the 10.5.2 update.

OK thanks, I'll have to read up on installing 10.5.2 or just wait for Zephs 10.5.2. Might just be easier to wait for the next release. I'm really a noob when it comes to these things.

Even with 10.5.2 I'm still getting this problem after a prolonged time with screensaver activated and I'm away from the pc. Very annoying.

I don't have this problem on 10.5.2, EFI + GUID, nForce 4 Chipset.

I have started to have the same problem too. My mouse pointer moves all over the place now though I don't see the same message in the Console. Its moving around very fast all of a sudden.

I get this problem without the console lines now, very very weird. Let's hope Zephs 10.5.2 fixes it. nforce 4 SLI chipset here.

Well, it looks like I have to re-hash this old thread to say that I am also having this problem. I just discovered it after leaving my system on over night (I usually shutdown before I go to bed, so I didn't notice this before). I am having the same error messages in console, along with a bunch of these messages:

2/28/08 9:57:34 AM kernel CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page: p=628[mdworker] clearing CS_VALID

Anyone know what these might be? The mouse isn't the only thing that is suffering. The entire GUI is slow and choppy. I'm running a manually-updated 10.5.2. I haven't tried out Zeph's 10.5.2 DVD yet - does anyone know if it would fix this issue?

I've got the same issue (10.5.2 DVD -- relatively fresh install with all updates). Every now and then my entire system seems to get "bogged down" (choppy mouse, choppy video, crackling audio) and I have to restart, rather bizarre.
