If you had your graphics chipset fully functional, why do you replace that kext?

fully functional before the 10.5.7 update, when I updated, the kext was removed and it didnt work anymore

You should always backup your .kexts before you update. Anyways, I've had a problem with OSX not recognizing my ipod before. For some reason it had to do with me having to many things plugged into my usb ports. try unplugging everything accept your ipod and see if it works. If that doesn't work then it is indeed something to do with updating to 10.5.7. If thats the case then I wouldn't know what to do.

Did you replace system.kext to match your kernel?

i tryed to use the System.kext from before the update, and my machine wouldn't boot, I'm using the one from the 10.5.7 update and Im still using the 9.5.0 voodoo kernel. It's booting properly everything except these issues i've mentioned.

@oneshot

that didn't work.... thanks for the help anyways.

You need a 9.5.5 system.kext to fix the mounting issue. Try one the ones posted in insanelymac.
