I just installed leopard then applied the efi patch and when the boot loader normally starts all i see is a very bright white screen. After about 15 seconds my machine reboots. I can boot to my leopard 10.5.1 install with the dvd in the driver after it times out.

My specs

amd x2 3600+
DFI Infinity Ultra2-m2 Nforce 4
1024mb DDR2 800
ATI x1300 512mb
250G Maxtor ATA 133
Leopard 10.5.1 clean install with mbr

Installed efi-v8 after clean install from dvd

Im wondering if booting from grub would help. also once booted via the dvd IORegistryExplorer does not show EFI. Does this mean EFI is not working at all or would the dvd not boot with EFI emulation? I have not installed any kexts from the EFI package. Im using the Natit Kext but its not even to the point of getting loaded so i dont think its the culprit. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

My guess is either you didn't install EFI correctly, or you forgot to fix the permissions on AppleSMBIOS.kext. Either of those will break the bootup process.

Me too, I have tried to install PC EFI_8(http://osx86.wikidot.com/misc-information) with no luck,Leopard automatically reboot after the appearance of Darwin bootloader.I have tried to use Tiger and DVD to install EFI ,but the result is the same. And I also restored by Time Machine and Leo tells that "error load OS" and I have no permission for writing the Leo partition in Tiger as well.I notice the different Partition ID of Leo in Tiger and DVD,can someone tells why? Do I have to reformat Leo Partition to reinstall? And I just wander why Time Machine did NOT work for me.Can some Guru tells what wrong in my steps---First, I tried to install EFI in Tiger for Leopard--failed(automatically reboot),then restored by Time Machine and use DVD to installed--"error load OS". I have Acronis OS Selector for SUSE 10 and Windows, dose it make the EFI fail?

Thanx in advance!!!

I thought i read somewhere that when doing EFI on MBR you can have a max of 4 partitions? Maybe someone else remembers reading about some limitations.
