Is there anybody out there who knows anything about why this error occurs? I'm getting pretty frustrated trying to get any information on this.

The error is not occurring when booting from an installation DVD. I've been running this OS for a couple of months and decided to rebuild the pre-bindings, as well as clean up the caches. The next time I booted, I started seeing the EBIOS read errors. Somewhere along the way I was somehow able to reduce the number of errors, and hide their occurrence by using the "-f" kernel flag, but today I installed PCI drivers, and now the errors are back. I've looked everywhere for some reasonable explanation for these errors, as well as a solution, but there is nothing. Lots of occurances, judging from the shear number of posts, but no solutions anywhere.

My system does boot once it gets past the errors, but I'm concerned that something's become corrupted, or that something's now wrong with my installation. I really don;t want to have to reinstall, obviously, since I've been running this installation for a while now.

I am dual-booting OSx86 and WinXP, and have been since the day I did the install, so nothing's changed where that's concerned.

Can anyone help?
