So I wanted to order the GIGABYTE G31M-ES2L motherboard and I've found out there is the regular G31M-ES2L and a G31M-ES2L rev1.x which supports FSB 1600MHz and RAM 1066MHz...

Any experience with the newer revision? Is it still as hackintosh compatible? I don't know what else they might have changed.

I have this board, it run's vanilla pretty well and works out of the box. You just need to install a driver for the ALC883. The onboard GMA3100 graphics don't work, but this isn't a problem for most people since they use a separate card anyway. Be aware that the FSB 1600MHz and RAM 1066MHz is only with overclock.

I'm running retail on this with Chameleon 2.0 installed to the EFI partition. If you want my kexts pm me :)

Hi all - I've googled this issue but to no avail.
I'm having a problem at bios, i have 4 sata devices attached, no IDE
devices installed.

Sata devices:

1 x 2 yr old Samsung 500gb (SATA port 0) OSX86 installed on this
drive
1 x new 1tb WD drive (SATA port 1)
1 x 2yr 40gb Seagate (SATA port 2) windows xp installed on this drive
1 x DVD RW (SATA port 3)

I've tried auto / non combined / enhanced bios config. I can't reliably get all
sata devices to load. sometimes i get the samsung (port 0) to load
sometimes no devices at all. Invariably some drop off. I have retested
the drives with my intel 915gag motherboard and all are operating fine.
I have done a memtest boot disk, the mem installed is ok. If I hit F12
during post it stalls for a while and manages to load no drives. I've
contacted the store and gigabyte but they have no idea.
My usual situation is os loads, 1tb WD loads - dvd drive doesnt load, can't see 40gb (doesnt matter - still dual boots from bios)

I have Leo4All (os 10.5.2) installed on the 500gb samsung.

other hardware:

4GB Transend DDR2 ram,
G31M-ES2L motherboard
Penitum 2.8
Nvidia 7300gs Leadtek 256mb

Many thanks!
