Hey all Hac Heads. :)

Have a ton of exp with OSX86 and have two P5K-E Wifi's. Updated with a fresh install of iPC 10.5.6 with one, have an IDE DVD drive and also use the Realtek Wifi, but have not had problems like this.

Basically, just can't seem to find a reason I am getting kernel panics. Vanilla 9.6 kernel. Use Compressor to convert multiple files, works great. Final Cut Pro (LEGAL COPY) works great. Disk burning, works great. 8800 GT 512 with PCIEFI string added to plist and nvinstaller v.52 installed, dual screen works great.

I get kernel panics at weird times, a lot of times when the screen saver (Flurry - OpenGL) kicks in. Other times I think with disk accesses. Have MacFuse and NTFS 3G added, XP is on another 500GB drive, there are four total, XP, OS X and two other discs, one for a mirror of the system disc for transferring files as I get this ironed out, the other storage. All three non XP discs GUID Mac.

Do not have a DSDT loaded, using Cham 1.0.11 and have tried using UInstaller with the P5k-E package to bad results, too lengthy to go into. Is DSDT required or not? Have read varying things, and if so should I use PCEFI v9 or Cham 2RC1? Shoud SpeedStep in BIOS be off? Any other BIOS thing I am missing? standard stuff is set properly I feel.

Can't track down the problem, and was wondering how I can find it?

Suggestions?

Thanks a ton!

I have really REALLY come to determine that the RT8187L n the P5K-E Wifi is a serious impediment to a stable OS X on this mobo. It not only makes the system panic with vanilla kernel (Which you SHOULD be running on this mobo) in 10.5.6, eveything seems faster without it too, including graphics. I put in a Belkin USB WiFi dongle and it runs great now.

Do not ask me why but I have about a year's experience with two systems on this mobo, and 10.5.5 and under are not panicked, but 10.5.6 is. For sure.

No DSDT needed by the by.

Pretty sure. In this game 100% is never quite that. :)
