Give us more info. Seen many HP Dv series with success

But... did you;

1 - format? Partition? how many? MBR? GUID?

2 - Does your BIOS let you change AHCI to IDE? Ideally, AHCI shoukd be selected

3 - using vanilla or voodoo? Apples PS/2 or Voodoo PS/2? Voodoo PS/2 + vanilla causes KP and/or other erratic behavior. But is seems you did chose apple's...

I would say it is one of these first two at a glance. Take a look at my tutorial, we have a very similarly spec'ed laptop, same graphic card, which is a royal pain in the but to wake up properly!

Hope it helps for you in some way! Do try using my iAtkos customized settings,

Luck!

Hi!! I've your same laptop!! The only way to install leo is to do it from an external usb dvd, or one connected via eSATA (first boot with internal DVD, at error "Still..." swap DVD to external Device).

The problem is the DVD, not chipset. I've replaced fu**ing Optiarc AD-7561S with AD-7590S and the second works.

Good job.
