Wouldn't have thought much working support is available.
I have an Intel 3945 A/B/G and have never been able to get it working in OS X, yet I might be wrong :-/

And when it does exist, it quite dodgy in most cases.
Go on ebay and buy either 1390 or 1490 Dell (truemobile) PCIE wireless card.
Cost between 5€ and 25€
For example;
http://cgi.ebay.es/NEW-Dell-Wireless-1490-Dual-band-WLAN-Mini-PCI-E-Card_W0QQitemZ220445675873QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item3353961161&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1315|240%3A13 18|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
The difference, if my memory serves me well, is 1490 has a/b/g while 1390 only has b/g...
But anyways, both of these are native Airport devices. 2 minutes to swap them out. dead easy

Although those Dell cards are Airport devices, I believe that Thinkpads only accept a certain few PCIE cards. I might be wrong about the Dell cards, but you would be safer buying one of the Atheros Thinkpad cards (which can also work with Airport, with a tiny edit of a plist). I got a 11a/b/g card (#40Y7026) off of ebay for around $20 to put in my T61. As Gurruwiwi said the installation is pretty easy -- there is even a step-by-step guide on the Lenovo site.
