Kernel Panic when downloading

Hey everyone. I am using 10.5.7 iDeneb update combo kit off of 10.5.6 XxX. I am getting kernel panics every time I download large files. Other than that, I have no other issues. I used a wireless internet connection (DWA-552). I did not have this problem on 10.5.6 neither on 10.5.7 until last week. I have tried formatting and re-installing 10.5.6 then running the 10.5.7 update and I still get the same issue. I can still browse the web. I could really use some help regarding this.

I would say you need a 4gb+ memory patched SATA kext but your sig says you have 2 Gb memory only so if that info is up-to-date this may not be the case, but if you have more than 3 Gb RAM try with maxmem=3072 boot option and if it fixes it you would need to use a patched ATA kext like the ones from this thread at insanleymac (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=127611).

I actually upgraded to 4GB of RAM a few months back...I wonder if that is my problem. I don't recall having this issue so much with XxX 10.5.6 but now that I recall, I am only having this issue with 10.5.7 ideneb so that would make a lot of sense. I will try the discussion you referenced and see if that works for me. Also, I noticed that the panic also refers to JavaApplicationS. If I run Parallels using Windows XP, I don't experience kernel panic using Frostwire or Vuze, which appear to be Java-based applications. Thank you for the advice.

Try booting with maxmem=3072 or maxmem=2048, if the problem is indeed the broken AppleNForceATA that should stop it (by limiting your available memory).
If you still get panics when downloading large files with that then its something else.

I tried that and I stopped getting the kernel panic but then I started getting one almost identical to the previous one but this time referencing IO80211Family.Kext, IOPCIFamily.Kext, and AppleAirport.kext. It only does this when I am using Java applications. The good thing is if I use XP under Parallels, I don't have any problem with Vuze or Frostwire and I never get a kernel panic. So, it has to do something with Java but I can't figure it out. Any ideas?
