iATKos v7 Install Help - What Drivers for my Sys?

Hello,

I am having one heck of a time getting everything perfect on my first hackint0sh build. I switched to OS X in 2003 and have bought nothing but macs since. Found myself in need of a desktop, just couldn't spend $3k on a Mac Pro so I decided to go the hackint0sh route.

I can get the installer to load, and I use Disk Utility for erase the target drive. But I do not know which drivers to pick...

Below is my hardware:

Motherboard:

Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P ATX

Processor:

Intel Corporation Core 2 Quad Processor Q9550

Video Card:

nVidia GeForce 8600 GTS

Ram:

OCZTECH 4GB DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM

Hard Drive:

Western Digital 640GB SATA HDD

Case:

Antec Nine Hundred ATX Case


Could anyone knowledgeable tell me exactly what drivers to select during my setup?

I really want nothing more than to get my system 100% so I can go back to work. I've spent many days trying to figure out everything thats going on.

I've tried selecting different drivers pretty much at random for the most part, and I get a spinning wheel under the main apple screen on first load, frozen altogether, or kernel panic.

I know its conflicts. But there are so many options to pick from, I'd just like to know what my system needs!

take a voodoo kernel and choose natit for gfx.
also ichx, dsmos and smbiosresolver. maybe also jmicron.

generally take a look at the specs of your board and choose the stuff accordingly. should be quite easy with your system.

Well I just tried what tham50 suggested. He didnt mention all of the options, so I just left what iATKos had pre-checked checked.

Right now the install just finished and there is a Frozen grey apple on my white screen with no spinning wheel underneath. :(

What about a bootloader?

this problem has been killing me for TWO WEEKS. can someone please just tell me PRECISELY every single option to select, or at least tell me where to find out.

Frozen grey apple = useless information. You need to boot with -v option so you can see the boot log and see where/why its freezing.
You should need no Voodoo kernel for an Intel Core CPU, better to stick with vanilla.
You may have troubles with a Quad though, you may need to boot with cpus=1 option (to use only one core) and find a dsdt fix to use all cores.

don't tell me you can't find one single guide somewhere.
then read the guide, compare to your system and situation and ... you know the drill.

in case something unusual happened that's the moment then to come back again with details.
