Hi,

I just realized that my Sony Vaio Laptop 965 Chipset with GmaX3100 (fully working btw) has very low scores in Xbench 1.3.

I installed OS X in my friends older laptop that has GMA950 and it beats out the crap of my newer Sta. Rosa system. It also runs smoother, especially when you minimize windows or hover over the dock. In my system, it is still good .. but not as smooth as the GMA950, very minimal lag.

Anyway, I ran Xbench in that GMA950 laptop and Spinning Squares test reached >190 frames/sec. Mine is only 23 Frames/sec. The difference is too big.

I know that X3100 is better that 950 but why am I having this issue. I read in some article that this is also the case in REAL macs.

Could you please share your Xbench scores if you have GMAX3100?

Here is mine: (CPU test not included)

Quartz Graphics Test 92.42
Line 136.66 9.10 Klines/sec [50% alpha]
Rectangle 56.29 16.80 Krects/sec [50% alpha]
Circle 100.74 8.21 Kcircles/sec [50% alpha]
Bezier 95.01 2.40 Kbeziers/sec [50% alpha]
Text 116.72 7.30 Kchars/sec
OpenGL Graphics Test 18.56
Spinning Squares 18.56 23.54 frames/sec
User Interface Test 56.46
Elements 56.46 259.11 refresh/sec

Thank you.

EDIT: I have tried all other drivers. I've tried EFI string only - Tried hacked kext - Tried Other Framebuffers - Tried 10.5.5 kext, 10.5.6, 10.5.7 stock kext - Tried Natit = All results are the same.
