I got the ISO with the right MD5 sum. After booting from the DVD, Darwin Loader show's up, Loading Extensions.mkext and then - reboot.
Any idea?

What sempron do you have? SSE2(Paris) or SSE3(Palermo)? If you have the first one you need a sse2 kernel.

You must know that if you don't select 9.1.0 kernel or 9.2.0, the 9.0.0 which is SSE2/SSE3 is installed.

@Zephyroth,
Thanx for your reply,I and splinter182 got the same issue---we do NOT even see the installer's GUI before reboot then how can we select kernel 9.x.x?The 10.5.1 Rev1 is perfect for my spec and I got the same problem when I installed PC_EFI_v80 manually after updating to 10.5.2 by eddie11c's package.Is there any known issue with EFI bootloader on Sempron? Anyone confirms?

@roisoft,
My Sempron 2800+:SSE2/SSE3,64bit.

Thanks!!

I can't make install couse I can't boot from DVD.
There is my CPU-info below.
@ kael I have the same problem as you. Can't use pc_efi with this CPU. Each time I install pc_efi I get restarting system.

@althon,
Yes,we nearly have the same mobo and CPU--mine is ASUS K8N4E-SE,NForce 4 and GeForce 6600 256Mb PCI-Ex16.The problem is also experienced by splinter182(http://osx.kbot.de/comments.php?DiscussionID=377&page=1#Item_10)and he has the same CPU,I just wander whether the CPU could be the
criminal....

I have exactly the same problem. Though my processor is an Athlon64 X2 5600+.

Running it in VMWare, at exactly that point where it does reboot on the real hardware, it loads the apple logo in the vm.
So could it be that this has something to do with screen resolution? I have a 1680x1050 widescreen.

@gimpel,
Maybe you do NOT configured correctly in your VM BIOS,you have to check No Executable (nx/xd) enabled in your bios(http://netkas.org/?p=8),also,you have to use Free BSD model in VM when you create your Guest OS and use right SSE patch.BTW,if your HDD is spare,why not installing in your real machine? VM's slow and hugs your RAM.Try some real FUN!

@kael

Nevermind about vmware, I just used it to test, and it does go further than on the real hardware.

I have a spare harddisk and am trying to install on that. I just tried again and it is indeed something with EFI
"Loading /Library/System/Extensions.mkext", then a message with something about EFI flashes up for the part of a second, and the box reboots. So exactly the same problem as you guys with your semprons, but quite different specs.

specs again:
Athlon64 X2 5600+
Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H (ATI SB600)
2GB RAM
GF 7200GS PCI-E

Harddisk for OSX will be a 40GB IDE drive on an IDE controller (That one had a FreeBSD 7.0 with / on ZFS till yesterday.. :) currently unformatted)
DVD-drive is IDE too.

PS: I do not have that NX/DX options in my BIOS.

okay, plugging the keyboard using usb instead of ps/2 AND booting with cpus=1 did the trick.

Unfortunately there is and probably will never be a driver for my M-Audio Delta soundcard, no love for mac then.
But cool to see it is possible. Great work!
