Ok so I downloaded 10.5.2 from the bay and I burned it in Roxio. I booted up with the dvd and opened disk utility there I reformated my hdd (to get rid of my old 10.5.1 install) and re-partitioned the drive. customized my install with Nvidia 320 mb driver, MBR bootup, nforce driver and x11. The installation only took about 20 mins if that and rebooted after. After that I get the blinking curser and so I thought maybe I had to activated the partition so I did
fdisk -e /dv/rdisk0
update
f 1
w
q
reboot
and whe I reboot without the dvd I still have the same issue.

Any suggestions?
Right now I have 10.4.10 installed and I'm typing from it right now.

A lot of people are experiencing the same error. Interestingly enough, it is not an error. I encountered the same thing, and this is what I did.

heres the deal, Make sure your partition is configured with MBR (Master Boot Record), and assure that the name of your Partition/HD Volume is one word only, i.e. Leopard, not Macintosh HD.

Lastly, make sure the Bootloader you install is MBR as well.

You should be on the road then. - WinLinMac01

No problem, as a matter of fact, I noticed that I can change the name of my HD Volume manually after the installation any way I want. This will not affect the O/S and bootloader a bit. I was afraid in the beginning but results were still positive. Glad it helped. =)

I am so picky about the name of my volume that I changed it to Macintosh HD, the default name used when Leopard is installed on your system.

burn the iso to a blank DVD
boot from the DVD
partition the disk using disk utility (beware, it may destroy data you have in your computer)
install
