View Full Version : iAtkos 10.5.7:still waiting... can't find my hdd, rd-diskXsY doesn't work!
hey there,
i am trying to install iAtkos 10.5.7 on my Asus P5B. I read that it's possible to enter the device from which I want to boot, manually. But when I enter rd-disk1s1 at the bootprompt, (the OSX install finished on this harddrive without any complaints)... I do only get the message, that the disc wasn't found. Then I am back at the OS and boot commands-selection-screen.
Well, what's wrong?
Thanks in advance

Well what options did you use when you installed it?
are you using USB sata pata drives?
if internal did you set your devices to ahci mode in the bios
how mutch ram are you using
i could go on and on
first info then you can get help
how do you know you have to use rd-disk1s1?
tip you could download and install gparted as a boot manager.

I did only boot the dvd, then I deleted the harddrive and installed the os.

I have a SATA and a PATA drive, I am using the PATA drive for OSX.

I startet the installation DVD again to check.

I'll do that if OSX starts properly.
Have you tried disabling your Sata drive, and all other drives not including the drive you plan on installing. You do this by going into your BIOS and changing the boot devices to none. Then make your 1st boot option your Optical Drive or USB drive, whatever you plan on installing leopard from, then your second would be your selected PATA/IDE Drive.

Do I need to reinstall OSX after disabling the other drives?
If you havent installed it, then you need to install it once. But you can always re-enable the drives the same way you disabled them.
