Hello guys,

i tried to install iPC 10.5.6 on my asus k50IN laptop but after install it doesnt want to boot. i have tried every switch there is and i can boot the installer only with cpus=1. Do i need a modified bios from kabyl for it to work? cause the asus motherboard i have at home needed bios mod from juzzi to boot osx. thanks in advance :)

Try to select the following at iPC Customization:

Patch DSDT with NewHPET
Chameleon with SMBIOS / DSDT

and see if that gets you rid of cpus=1 usage on installed system.

ok will try that. anyway i got it installed, without the dsdt patch, i was wondering if that is needed for the cpus=1 option to be gone? also i have no luck with the graphic card and wifi sofar... Nvidia geforce g102m 512 vram and atheros wifi. if you have any suggestions i would be glad to hear them :)

I would try 9400(M) Efi Strings for your graphicscard.

i was wondering if that is needed for the cpus=1 option to be gone? You can read about DSDT and DSDT Patching here:
http://www.infinitemac.com/f84/a-quick-guide-to-dsdt-t3436/
There might be other methods to fix it, but out of my experience it does...

hello,

thanks for the answer, i tryed and installed iAtkos v7 and things are going ok, no cpus=1 this time except of of the two problems i had with the wifi and graphic now i have a third one which is audio that works with voodoohda but the sound is choppy and terrible. the codec is ALC662 and i have tried just about anything but it doesnt work except for the voodoo driver. any help on the efi string from 9400M and device id would be nice, `(or on the other subjects) cause i have tried efi strings for my card but no can do. thanks in advance,

cheers

audio that works with voodoohda but the sound is choppy and terrible. the codec is ALC662 and i have tried just about anything but it doesnt work except for the voodoo driver. You can try to use patched AppleHDA.kext instead, as I descripted here (http://www.infinitemac.com/f7/iatkos-v7-install-reboots-t3825/post32750.html).

any help on the efi string from 9400M and device id would be nice, `(or on the other subjects) cause i have tried efi strings for my card but no can doWell just read the HowTo here:

OK, tried everything but still no go :( Sound works with VoodooHDA only, the graphic card only shows at boot time with NVInjectGo, but it doesnt boot to desktop...WiFi is understandably not there because there are no drivers for it yet i think...Cheers

*UPDATE
Installed 10.5.8 no problem made efi string for the graphic card in OSX86Tools and i have my card recognized but no core image end no quartz extreme, just quartzgl and resolution of 1024x768.

*UPDATE II
Tried and installed snow leo but still have problems with the graphic card, cannot boot into intro video...if anyone has any kind of solution for the graphic either leo or snow leo, please post :)

greetings from Philippines @ flip360

great!just got your thread on google search..we have same unit...

what's the update on your build? how's the snow update?

few Qs i got..i already tried installing iatkos v7 twice. after the boot, and the welcome page (with a garbled audio :D) it says "no keyboard found". what kext (?) did you pick on the installation page to make it work?

thanks in advance

made this installer on 8Gb USB and installed snow leo on GUID partition. after that just add NVEnabler and you have QE/CI. the audio and wifi still dont work i hope for a solution for the audio (voodoohda is not working properly at the moment) in a not so distant future :) it also updates to 10.6.1, just be sure and put NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in /Extra/Extensions to boot :) as for the wifi there is no kext still the only solution is to replace the card with anotherone that is known to work :) cheers

well on iAtkos part i selected nearly all the patches, EFI macbook air, smbios macbook, applePS2, x86ACPI, Openhaltrestart, DSDTUSB, i didnt select a patch for the sound, no extra kernel and no drivers for the wifi and LAN as far as i can remember.

Hello read your post, I also use asus K50IN, tried everything but I can only boot into os x in safe boot. In the regular boot with -v it stops booting at voodoopower.kext any help with this, forgot to mention I installed ideneb 1.5.1 10.5.7

Pls give me a step by step procedure to boot without -x (safe boot)

Thanks

i have tried every single distro before snow leopard and i must tell you that 10.6 works best out of all the distros so far. I have stable 10.6.1 32bit system and i got it installed with the help of this, no need to bother with iDeneb or iAtkos :)

Wow, thanks for the reply, just one question:

Would the regular OS X 10.6 Snow leopard Retail build 10A432 DVD boot up on my Asus K50IN machine?

I burnt the dmg image to an 8.5Gb DVD but it didn't boot-up, just want to find out if I did something wrong.
Thanks for your relpy.

no the original will not boot, you will have to use a bootloader, usually Chameleon RC3 will do. You grab the script from the link i posted above, install it on an 8GB usb stick and than restore the snowleopard image on it. reboot and you should be good to go. You will have to make your install partition or disk GUID to install snow leo. Just dont forget to install NullCPUPowerManagement and NVEnabler in /Extra.

My G102M is supported in SL 32bit with NVEnabler but its not working under 64bit due to lack of NVEnabler 64bit kext. I have tried EFI strings under 64bit SL and it is recognized and i can change resolutions and all but with OpenGL Extension viewer i dont have Nvidia renderer like in 32bit just Apple software one. Has anyone have a clue about it? Thanks

Hello, I have successfully installed Ideneb 1.5.1
I have followed your step and created a bootable USB flash disk for snow leopard installation but the boot stops at

Warning- com.apple.driver.internal moderm supports declares no kernal dependencies: using com.apple.Kernel.6.0 ACPI_SMC_Platformplugin::stand wait for service(resourceMatching)
(AppleIntelCpuPowerManagment) timeout

Pls any help with that.
Thanks
