Mobo: Asus P5K Premium
Sound: Onboard AD1988B
Everything seems to be working except for the sound. On leopard I'm pretty sure I patched the sound with "Taruga_AD1988b_rev3_Installer" which crashes when I try to install it on Snow Leopard.
Solutions I've tried:
1) Just VoodooHDA.kext
2) VoodooHDA.kext, OSvKernDSPLib.kext and IOAudioFamily.kext
3) Just AD1988b.Fix.kext in conjunction with DSDT patch. Details Here (http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/how-to-snow-leopard-gm-10a432-on-p5k-t3380/post30994.html)
None of these solutions have worked for me. I did notice a "POP" sound coming from the speakers during the grey apple loading screen while using VoodooHDA.kext. It sounds similar to when you plug in speakers to a live jack and you get the crackle noise. It only lasts for less than a second and is completely silent after that.
