My specs:
Intel i7 920, CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB PC3 12800, BFG GeForce GTX 285
EVGA X58 Classified, 2x RAID Intel X25-E Extreme SSD (Windows 7), 2x RAID WD Black, and one old 32gig Raptor drive (MAC install)
I'm trying to install OSX with the help of Iatkos V7 10.5.7.
So...I pop in the DVD. Push F8 once I boot to the DVD and enter:
"-v -f busratio=20 cpu=1"
I've also tried "mach_970 -v -f busratio=20 cpu=1"
Either way, both get me thru the installation successfully without a hitch. However, upon booting after install...I receive the following: "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER."
The following youtube link contains my steps of just one set of options I picked during install (did several of them with a few variations, all end up with same results)...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ol_fyIPFNYo&fmt=18
The options I picked during the install:
Bootloader: Chameleon V2
SMBIOS: AppleSMBIOS netkas
Kernal: 9.7.0 Kernal Voodoo
OHR
Remove TyMCE
DVI/DVI
NATIT
nVidia GT200
Realtek R1000I installed easybcd to see if it would do anything for me...but upon booting up to easybcd boot menu I receive an error about it not being able to find \NST\nst_mac.mbr after I select MAC OSX from the menu (and yes, I did change the options in EasyBCD to point to the correct HD). Is this even required if MAC OSX is installed on a totally different harddrive?
Someone suggested on youtube that I remove all my other extra harddrives. So, I tried this...but no dice. Same results.
Also tried changing SATA mode in BIOS from RAID to AHCI. Don't have an IDE drive, so no jumpers needing to set for Primary Master / Secondary...etc. From Bios, I changed the drive to boot first to the Hard Drive. Not sure what else to check for.
My DVD is an IDE drive. Not sure if this would be problamatic in anyway. I haven't tried the USB method yet. Not even too sure how to get the image converted to a USB stick.
Anyone have any suggestions on getting around this or recommendations for other DISTROs?
