Hey,

I'm trying to get my mic input to work so I can use Skype and Ventrilo. I am using the VoodooHDA.kext for my ADI 1988B onboard sound card.

The mixer panel shows the mic input, and I'm allowed to adjust the volume on it, but when testing what it's picking up using Audacity it's just static. I've tried both Mic input and Line In. Neither one works. In Ventrilo, under the input device, it does not have an option for Mic input. Just Default, or CD.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

try putting the mic in a differnt port. like not Line in Or Mic, go to the front of the comp and try the other mic input or even the headphone output.

I tried this. The only port that showed some activity was my Line-In port, but it was so distorted, and staticy that it was impossible to hear what I was saying, and for it to even register I had to almost yell into the mic.

When looking in the different applications for Recording or Audio input source, the only device listed is "CD".

***EDIT***

I can now hear myself through my own speakers, however I still cannot select "Mic" as an input source in any applications. The only input source that shows up is "CD".

Looking around on Google I've found references to a driver package that used to be worked on by someone named "Taruga". I read many reports that his driver packaged got audio out and mic input working. Does anyone have this package that they can send me. I have searched for download links but I'm unable to find anything that still works.

Taruga's v4 is what I'm looking for.

Thanks!
