Reading several threads on installing SL on Intel machine and have seen
many references to smbios.plist and editing same.

In my current Leopard 10.5.8 system on Asus motherboard I can't find
an smbios.plist file.

1. Where is the smbios.plist file located in Leopard 10.5.8?

2. Do you get an smbios.plist after install of sl? and if so, where is it?

3. Is an smbios.plist required to install and run SL?

Thanks

smbios.plist is a text file you can use to trick the system profiler about your hardware. The effect is the same you will obtain using a SMBIOS injector( AppleSMBIOSEFI, AppleSMBIOSResolver) or a patched AppleSMBIOS. In order to use a smbios.plist you need Chameleon 2.0RCx. The file must be placed in /Extra.

If you want to use it, you have to write it on your own (it must suit your hardware profile), BTW you can always adapt one of the many smbios.plist here in the forum.

I hope it might help and sorry for my bad English!

cheers!

Thanks cilio.

That clears it up for me a bit.

I have some sample smbios.plits I can edit for my use.

That goes in the /Extra/ folder - correct?
