Hey Dudes.
I'm having an issue trying to install iPC OSx86 Leopard 10.5.6.
When I attempt to install it reaches the gray apple logo screen which only flashes on for a second, then my computer reboots.
I've applied PPF patches 1-5 to the ISO and checked the MD5, which was correct and burnt the DVD slowly.
I've tried boot options such as: "v-" "-f" "cpus=1" and disabled USB legacy support in the bios, none of which have worked.
I also tried it on my house mates computer and it loaded through the installer with success.
I can't find a solution for this problem anywhere and would really love to get OS X running on my new PC.
I'd really appreciate any help and thank you in advance.
PC Specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 @3.2GHz
Mobo: Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P
RAM: 4GB DDR3
GFX: MSI Nvidia Geforce 9600GT
HDD: 320Gb & 160GB & 1TB
i hope i gets a successful help in this...
EDIT: i used F8 during Darwin OSx86 Boot and typed "busratio=20 cpus=1 fsb=133 config= live.plist" it went to Gray Apple Loading.. and then within minutes it shows up a Icon near the Apple Logo and stucks at their.. no booting into installation..
EDIT: i used "busratio=20 cpus=1 fsb=133 -v -f" and it went to some loading of devices.. and finally it shows me "Still waiting for root device".
I need some help guys..

First always boot with -v when doing tests, to see the boot log, a grey apple will tell you nothing about whats going wrong...
It looks like your board has AMD SB700 storage controller, which is badly supported by OS X, if you have AHCI mode available in the BIOS the SATA ports should work, if you dont have it or you are using an IDE disk you may need to find a distro that has support for your controllers device id in some hacked kext or try to do a retail install and include the kext yourself.

is it okay, if i does include a kext in the distro.. 780G Chipset (SB700) Support kext? so then i could install it?? what do you think about it? I will shortly try to post a kext which support AMD SB700 to Infinitemac .. I need some help on fixing it.. it will be very much thanked if one of the guys helped on it..

I dont know which distro supports it, sorry. It has to support it in the booted installer from the dvd.
You should look into your bios options, ahci will give you better performanco than any hacked kext.

Well i got into success using a extension.mkext into the DVD.. to boot and install Apple Mac OS X in iPC distro.. then i cant boot into Apple mac after it.. it is supposed to be that some driver error in .com.apple.boot.plist Driver error...
As soon as i get a time i will post the guide how to patch the SB700 Extension.mkext & also some other kext.

I am sure that you should only use 1 AppleSMBIOS or you will get problems.
It might help if you could post what selections you made in customization, plus if you go to the insanelymac forum try the OSx wiki and look for your components.

You should post more detailed info like options chosen in the distro you use, and the output of the verbose boot log for anyone be able to help you.
Adding a foreign kext to the distro wont be of much help if you dont know if that kext has support for the controller's device id you have. Have you tried to switch the SB700 into AHCI mode?

I did everything as written in readme file. like switching the SB700 into AHCI Mode. and also it didn't worked for me... so i did was i added up just a kext extensions.mkext into the ISO and i ran into Installation after successful installation also it didn't boot to Mac.. showing some error and instant restarts tried some boot flags and went into Mac Logo loading and stucked their...
So i guess if their is any solutions for this.. so then i could verify and check again?

I'm not sure what you did, I think you are complicating things without need, AHCI mode should need no extra kext and no extra options at all, if are you installing from SATA to SATA, are you using a PATA DVD or HD? If thats so the thing changes...
I would advise you to try a clean install with no modifications, choose as less options as posible (i.e. you dont need graphics or sound, but you would need a Voodoo kernel or PS/2 if you use that kind of mouse...), and always boot in verbose mode (-v, not v-) so you can report the output instead of just "grey apple logo" or "some error".

Man i did everything you said... like i did Normal ISO without any Modifications.. and also i am not using a PATA DVD because i'm using is a SATA DVD Writer... so i guess my things are okay... And Yes i do have the supported Audio/Lan Drivers in the ISO. so that means my pc supports.. and i have Nvidia Geforce Mac Drivers and also Keyboard & Mouse Mac Drivers...
if i enter with boot flag " -v " then it shows a gray apple logo then restarts within seconds
if i enter with boot flag " busratio=20 cpus=1 fsb=133 config=live.plist " (with the kext) then it loads to installation success and then No First welcome logo nor no boot to mac..
Without the kext nothing loads into Installation part or to gray apple logo part..

And Please can anyone tell me how to fix 4 cores working together because i'm having a Quad Core Processor as you can see a review about it... and also you can see my motherboard is a AM3 Support Motherboard it has ACPI thing enabled and SS3 also enabled.. and ACHI Enabled.. so i guess puting the a kext support for AMD SB700 Chipset it will work.. i would give a try today... and inform you guys the result.

I have the same mobo. I also tried all the latest distros but couldn't get it going.
Any luck with yours?
UPDATE:
I was able to install ideneb 1.5.8 lite..
Got lucky all necessary kexts are included in the distrio
bios is set to ahci.
ideneb customization:
went with the default selections
and added 9.8.0 qoopz , mouselagfix ,AppleAzaliaAudio , ApplaAtiATA, Realtec8169/RTL8111 , NVKUSH for video.
Everything seems to work fine so far, but more testing needed...
hope it helps someone....
