Hi, first of all excuse me for my english, I'm from Spain.
I'm curios about apple O.S., so I'm trying to install iatkos v7 on my computer, but the installation hangs on the first reboot, and I don't know what to do. I've choosen iatkos for no particular reason, except is the only release I know, so if anyone thinks that with my hardware I should user another "distribution", please feel free to recommend.
My computer is:
Asus A8N-E (I think it's nforce-3 chipset)
Amd x2-3800
1GB RAM
Geforce 6600-256MB
HD Samsung Sata
IDE DVD Samsung
I'm a windows' user and I have no idea of apple, so think of me as I'm needing an "apple in your pc guide for dummies", and please explain to me in an "non-expert" way.
Thanks a lot for your help ;)

System freezing in apple's logo after first reboot o the same with the forbidden sign.
I've managed to install it changing options, and using an IDE hard disk (I think the problem was nforce's sata driver not working properly). I'm dealing now with my ps/2 keyboard (everything works fine except for the keyboard), but it's a matter of time to find it out, because I only have 3 different options for the keyboard, and I'm installing using one at a time, so I cross my fingers in order to be able to use the keyboard ;)
Thanks for your answer :)

uh i guess i have the same problem.
I get the forbidden sign too. (Crossed Circle if you mean that) after full installation D:
But i guess my mistake was: i installed ALL what can be installed xD (all drivers and so on)
When i finished work, i will reinstall with less.
good luck

If it helps, I've installed using this options:
Chameleon 1
No extradirectory
dsmos (instead of apple's)
no smbios options selected
kernel 9.50 voodoo
x86 acpi
remove TyMCE marked
VGA driver: EFI (VGA/DVI)
nforce SATA/IDE and Generic IDE selected
Cardbus driver selected
USB driver selected
network realtek 8139
sound alazia driver
But it seems that my ps/2 keyboard is not working with any of the options :( I'll buy a usb keyboard.
