I think Apple only supports a handful of ATI HDxxxx in Snow so, without having any experience with ATI first hand, I'm afraid it wont work. The card needs to be supported by Apple first before you think about injectors and plists, if its not sharing same core as the ones officially supported I think you would need to buy a new one.

Any NVIDIA with the same core as the ones Apple officially support should work without much troubles. If you are not playing games probably even an old 8800 GT would work.

OpenCL

requires one of the following graphics cards or graphics processors:

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, GeForce 9600M GT, GeForce 8600M GT, GeForce GT 120, GeForce GT 130, GeForce GTX 285, GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GS, Quadro FX 4800, Quadro FX5600
ATI Radeon 4850, Radeon 4870

One of the ATIs would do too I guess but I dont know how hard they are to make it work on a hackintosh.
QuickTime h264 acceleration requires a 9400M though, I'm not sure what other models would support it.
