I have a SL installation using retail disc on my EP35 board with NVidia card runs smoothly, but on my other spare PC, which is a HP DC5700/Q963/C2D E4300.

I have installed Chameleon RC3 with PC-EFI 10.3, with these in /E/E:
Disabler
fakesmc
NullCPUPowerManagement
OpenHaltRestart
PlatformUUID

On a small partition and the SL disc image on another partition, I can boot into the Chameleon bootloader, and choose the drive to boot, which is the SL disc. I checked in verbose mode an dit always hangs at

Hangs at ACPI:System State [S0 S3 S4 S5] (S3)

Is there any clue on fixing this issue? Thanks!

Try with cpus=1 and check the bios settings related to CPU features and ACPI (APIC, HPET, etc.)

No luck with the cpus=1 flag. And there is just 2 options in the bios that seems to related to ACPI:

ACPI S3 Hard Disk Reset - Enable
ACPI S3 PS2 Mouse Wake Up - Enable

I have try to disable them but I still got the same screen.....Thanks.

disabled the following in your bios.
APIC = disabled (windows xp and later requires this for cpu speed step)
HPET disabled / auto

if you got applejack installed (assuming)

press F8 on bootup then set the following switches
-x for safe mode
-v for verbose mode, check for any errors and list them down for later
-f to ignore initial bootup loaders.

see if it works for you. this works for me.

here's my rig

pc chips p43g
2gig ram
intel pentium dual core e5200
160gig samsung sata

the board initially isnt supported by mac under any leopard versions, so i cloned one drive from a gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L board installation, fixed the disk permissions using applejack, loaded audio / lan, works like a charm. still studying for SL installation tho.

cheers ^_^
