i've tried the macpro & default ones. Will try the imac.
And how do we find the original applesmbios in Zeph's dvd? i forgot to backup :p
and apparently there's no /system/library/extensions folder in the dvd

you can search for that by installing an application called invisibles that will allow you to make all of the hidden files on the DVD (contents) become visible to you. from there you can make a backup. However, I am still having that feeling that zephyroth already included the latest SMBIOS in his revision 2 release.

yes already show all invisibles with onyx,
but zephyroth did not include that /system/library/extensions in the rev1 dvd (he will on rev2)
so i guess it somewhere else but i can't find it

Is it important to update at last release of applesmbios? can i do it with kext helper?

You can use KextHelper with AppleSMBios.
Thanks Rogue... but it is an important update to do or not?

I believe instead of 27, it is 23.

AppleSMBIOS.kext has something to do with fans? it seems to me to hear more noise from fans after update to version 27...

Crashes my "About My Mac" also, 10.5.2 rev1 comes with -26 which works okay

It doesn't crash my other AMD system in the Leo4All installation. That's odd. O-o

AppleSMBIOS.Kext-27 also causes the desktop to restart. I was using the one shipped with rev2 but it displays my ram at 400mhz when its 800. ideas are welcomed.

Quick ? - Does the AppleSMBIOS only report the different system specs to the About This Mac? Or does it actually regulate the memory speeds, bus speed, cpu speed etc? Im using the new Kalyway 10.5.2 and the memory speed and bus speed is off. If I try other versions of the SMBIOS, will my performance increase if the correct values are reported?
thx

AppleSMBios only reports specific information about your system it doesn't control anything. Yes. there are quite a few discrepancies in what it reports, but they are merely cosmetic issues. Info such as ram speed and model type needs to be hard coded into AppleSMBios in order to report it correctly. No matter what ATM or ASP states, your Mac will be running at full speed regardless. Like I said, it's all cosmetic.
