ello ello. so i have been on the hunt for months for a pc that had the sse3 on it. (if none of this makes sense i am sorry, i is a noob) well long story short i found this compaq presario v2000. i needed it so bad (because of the sse3) that i was willing to trade my iphone for it. i didnt, however, just traded an xbox and old dvd player instead(real good trade for me RIGHT)

all day i have been trying to install leopard and tiger on it. i have various install dvds but each one sucks for me for i have really no idea what is going on though i try.

i have the JaS 10.4.8, kalyway 10.5.1, iaktos 10.5.7 and one more leopard install.

when i boot up sometimes it will not find my hd. i enter the flag rd=disk0. i hope that that is right. when it does find it it will give me that panic something about nfs failed with 6 blah blah blah. this sucks. that was the same panic i was get on my non-sse3 desktop. i forgot but i put all these disks in a friends computer and they worked wonderful. we even had no harddrive installed. we unpluged them so i could put my hard drive in and forgot to plug them in and it still worked. WHY WONT IT WORK FOR ME!!!????

the laptop has an amd 1.8 ghz proc. 1.5 gig of ram, and ati raedon thing, 36 gighard drive. i dont know if it matters but i have partition on the hd that is 8 gigs with ubuntu installed. sorry for all the n00bage. i am kinda self taught so you can see why i suck so back thanks fellows hope you can help me out. you're way smarter then me so i have faith

1. You saied, you're dual-booting Ubuntu, so please enter "sudo lspci -nn" and "sudo cat /proc/cpuinfo" on Terminal and post the results, this will give us detailed infos about your books hardware.

2. Your parameter is wrong, as rd=disk0 just defines a harddisk and is missing a partition, correct would be rd=disk0s1 for the first partition, on the first harddisk.

3. Please take your iphone or something and post a photo of the error message your getting "blah blah" isn't very helpfull in this case.
