Nawcom has made a 10.2.0 kernel for AMD/P4 users!
He made a nice installer for this. So you can just run the installer on 10.6.2 and youre good to go.
It also includes a patches SleepEnabler.kext.

Shouldnt it be 10.6.2 kernel instead of 10.2.0?
Anyway, through reading the links in the first post, one could conclude that it is basicly the qoopz 10.6.0 kernel updated to 10.6.2 without any significant changes?
What I mean is that it probably will not work for those who cant get qoopz's 10.6.0 kernel to work.

Shouldnt it be 10.6.2 kernel instead of 10.2.0?No. Why? 10.2.0 is the new Darwin Version that came with OS X 10.6.2 - the Version of Darwin doesn't match with the one of OS X, alltough most OS X master versions came with a new Kernel version (For example Tiger Kernel was 8.x Leopard one 9.x).
Your current Darwin Version can be displayed using "uname -a" on Terminal.
But you're right it's mainly a port of the quoopz Kernel.

Thanks for the info, I didnt know that ;)

Without on-the-fly opcode patching done by the kernel SnowLeopard is useless on AMD.

Agreed.
For me this kernel doesn't work, neither did qoopz. Probably related to my system...

Snow Leopard works perfect for me (32bit mode) with Marvin's AMD Utility and the new Kernel.

is it support 64 bit mode for amd user in SL without on the fly cpuid?

is it support 64 bit mode for amd user in SL without on the fly cpuid? As it is based on quoopz Kernel you should be able, to enable virtual memory adressing using -force64 bootflag - but it's known to be a little unstable.
Using 64-Bit Kernel & Extensions is possible with Vanilla Kernel only.

-Entourage does not work.
-Adobe CS4 does not work.
-iTunes settings does not work.
-Crossover does not work?
-Software Update is slow, and there is no Download Only option.
And unfortunately Voodoo project is dead.

Maya77: Did you patch your cpuids with Marvins Amd Utility?
maya77
11-22-2009, 08:43 PM
Yes, these for iTunes:
/System/Library/QuickTime/
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CarbonCore.framework/Versions/A/
And this one for Spotlight:
/System/Library/PreferencePanes/Spotlight.prefPane
iTunes settings are not fixed by these.
What needs to be patched to get Entourage and CS4 working?

Maya77, patch the entire /System folder to fix all those problems :)

He,
When i try this kernel, it gives a Kp.
In pacifist it shows the package contains the kernel and sleepenabler.kexts.
How can i restore my system, or fix this Kp? When i replace old kernel it still gives this Kp message shown in photo. Sorry for the quality.

@Doerak
Using dsmos - or decrypter in generall is obsolete. Use latest fakesmc v2.5 instead of it.
I think that will also fix your KP.

I have Fakesmc v2.5 and dsmos kexts already in the Extra folder.
And after i removed the legacy kernel and restored mach_kernel.test7 ,Chameleon says "can't find Legacy_Kernel". The System don't boot.

You should change "legacy_kernel" to "mach_kernel" in "com.apple.Boot.plist" file.

That was a very good suggestion.
I changed the kernel names both in the boot plists of the Extra folder and the Library/ Preferences folder. Now the system boots, but hangs saying "code signing CS_invalid......etc.

This worked, Thanks. CS4, Entourage, and iTunes settings works now.
Now feature SL updates also should be fixed using Zephy's AMD Patcher?
Edit: Another problem -- Internet is slower on Snow Leopard.
This is noticeable when browsing sites, and also when downloading files. Any idea?

This is noticeable when browsing sites, and also when downloading files. Any idea? This can have lots of reasons...
My first attempt would be to try to disable the IPv6 protocoll...

Disabled IPv6, no changes.
Note: I have no such problems on Windows or leopard, just on SL.

OK. Did you check if there is any programm running what might steal your bandwith?
Second try of mine would be to use OpenDNS...

This kernel is working fine on my PC Intel P4 630 3GHz HT, however -force64 has no effects on my SL 10.6.2 Whether I use -force64 or not, I still get a 32-bit SL: Nghias-Mac-mini:~ nghia$ uname -a Darwin Nghias-Mac-mini.local 10.2.0 Darwin Kernel Version 10.2.0: Tue Nov 17 01:24:40 EST 2009; annappirtrvh v2:xnu-1486.2.11/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 i386 I do not understand, can somebody help me?

Install kernel - remove dsmos and system should boot up just fine.
Netkas said on netkas.org that you don't need dsmos anymore, use fakeSMC instead.

Not completely useless, but ya, on-the-fly opcode is a main feature.

Check activity monitor , apps will be in 64-bit. Thats how real macs behave. This kernel DOES NOT HAVE PURE 64-BIT KERNELSPACE like vanilla. Thats a different issue, however it gives you 64-bit support for apps like real macs do. That is how apple advertises it.
using this kernel, i get a kernel panic when using the dashboard. any ideas? thanks.

Make sure you patched your cpuids and if it still kps go back to the modbin test7 kernel.(working alot better on my amd system)
if this was a cpuid patch issue, i think dashboard will kp on me with modbin kernel, but it doesn't.
this kernel works (for me) only with fakesmc, it kp at start with dsmos.
with fakesmc 2.5 dashboard crashes, with this kernel and modbin (kp).
with dsmos and modbin kernel, all is fine.

I have a question for the coder of this kernel:
I have a phenom that has a clock speed of 3.1GHz by default and can easily be overclocked beyond that. The problem is that there is a set cutoff for the value of busratio of 30. If I overclock the CPU to 3.4GHz and manually set busratio to 30 at startup, it works, but Snow Leopard thinks the CPU is only a 3.0 GHz. Is it possible to change this cutoff to say 40 which would allow an overclock of 4.0GHz for example and recompile? Otherwise, could someone help me in compiling it myself? This has apprently been an issue since the first Voodoo 1.0 kernel for Leopard.
Thanks.

someone made a kernel modified specifically for phenom, not sure if it was on here or insanleymac but it should be easy to find with a quick search
