today, many of AMD cpus are supported by modified XNU kernel, but problem can be with graphic card. your new pc has nvidia gf6150 and maybe it is not supported. it is very old one!

Intel means less problem with OS X - it's more compatible. Also, AMD CPUs are often hotter than Intel. I'd say go for Intel. AMD are good as well - but if you're thinking about OS X - go for Intel to save yourself problems.

Yes, Intel CPU is the best for OSX, with core 2 duo do not need patched kernel

Also Intel has better 64-Bit implementation than AMD. :)
Ofcourse there is Voodoo Kernel respective the quoopz Kernel for SL which can be used with -force64 bootlfag, but it ain't as stable. And in view of the prices for memory most people like to use more then than accursed 3,*GB limited by 32-Bit adressing.
btw: My old AMD rig & OSx86, was reason enaugh for me to change.^^

Yeah stick with an Intel setup. Less headaches because you don't need a custom kernel, patch CPUIDs each update, etc etc. If you're worried about money build it yourself.

Intel CPU + Intel Chipset FTW!
