GUIDE Install Snow Leopard 10.6.1 on A Toshiba L305 Laptop

Well I dropped Windows 7, Snow Leopard Rocks!!!!

Here's my specs

Toshiba L305

Processor: 2.20 Ghz

RAM: 2GB

Fully working Intel x4500 Graphics card, Quartz Extreme!

WIFI: Realtek RTL8187B Fully working with patched driver

USB: Dident work when first installed OSx86 , Works with patched IOUSBFamily.kext
(It was a USB 2.0 incompatibility)

Track-pad/Keyboard: Worked when I installed "PS2.kext"

DVD-RAM/RW: Works out of the box, hard drive as well, Also both are SATA.


So here's the list of drivers

PS2.kext
Modified RTL8187B.kext
Modified IOUSBFamily.kext
Modified intel x3100.kext (to work with the intel x4500)
VoodooBattery.kext
VoodooHDA.kext

This machine is Vanilla compatible so enjoy updating this with no hassle!

I have tested the 10.6.1 update and also the 10.6.2 update, There is a slight problem with the 10.6.2 update, Where the system freezes for 7 minutes after boot then proceedes to work nomally, I dont know what causes this problem nor do I know how to fix it, So just stick with the 10.6.1 update for now.

Attached is the kext Pack for this computer.

The ditro I used was SnowOSX, I recommend getting the latest version.

Hi 00010,

I used the graphic kexts.. it's gave me native resolution 1280x800 :D, but still unsupported QE&CI.

the steps i've done:
install those two x3100 kexts, repair permission.. then reboot.

Did I install them correctly? or I'm missing something...

You might have to use the "OSx86 Tools" Utility to enable Quartz Extreme, Are you using Leopard or Snow Leopard?

and i'm using Leopard :p.
i thought it's worth a try.. but if it still can't works.. i'll switch to the Snow one.

about the line in the guide:
--> A Retail Snow Leopard DVD (Not a copy of one).
does it mean a real Mac DVD or just burned DVD from OSx86 project iso's?

Hi I have a l305 s5919. Is there an updated list of direction on getting sl to work along with new kext pack. I dont think all l305's have the same hardware. Any help is appreciated.

I installed osx 10.6.1 on a intel toshiba l305 laptop but I keep getting a need to restart pop upwhen I try to boot osx any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong

I am new to this game but I used empire Efi and load snow leopard 10.6.3 everything worked just fine except my LAN and wifi dont work. I tried the RTL8187B patch but it still did'nt work. Can someone help me out with this.
