My Hackintosh is missing only one thing: Audio...

Please help me understand whats' needed to make it work!

I've spent the past 10 days or so reading about kexts, dsdt's, etc, and still have no audio device.

My DSDT does not have an HDA section nor an AZLA section.

my Hardware Config:
Asus P5Q Deluxe motherboard with non-modified bios
On board audio is AD2000B sound -
from Windows Device Manager:
Vendor 11D4
Device 989B
Subst 10438311
Rev 1003

Software
Chameleon 2RC4 boot loader.
OSX 10.6.2
DSDT file created/patched by DSDT Patcher Gui (doing this enabled CPU temps in iStatMenu, so I believe it worked)

I have also tried creating the DSDT from the Ubuntu 9.1 live boot disc and it didn't have an audio section either.

How can I inject the appropriate Device(HDEF) section in my DSDT? (by how, I mean how do I find out what should be put in that section, and other sections as needed?

I found another post on this forum that lists a sample section:
http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/guide-how-to-port-applehda-to-sl-t3981/post35175.html

Is this generic enough that it would work for any audio device? It would seem logical that I'd need to customize it for my audio chip?

Thanks,

Jack

I am not enaugh familiar with this kind of device injects, that I could give you an suitable advice on how to add it in your case, but I think you should know that you will still need a patched AppleHDA kext even with having correct device inject.

Maybe this VoodooHDA (http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=355&hl=dsdt) fork is an easier solution suitable for your needs - alltough I could understand if you don't like using it as I have reasons to dislike it myself, like System Profiler crashs, problem after wake-up from sleep, etc...
