ASUS Maximus II Gene - SL instalation attempt.

Hi there.

I`m trying to install SL on ASUS Maximus II GENE, I will post here any progress that I`ll make. Would Appreciate any help/suggestion/link. I did not have so much luck searching the posts on this and insanely mac forums.

Ok, I`ve managed to install SL on ASUS Maximus II Gene using latest Empire Efi, The only Bios settings that I`ve changed is enabling AHCI.

It`s booting and stable but I have to fix, video, audio and other stuff.

by reading the specs section for your motherboard and knowing what chip is on the graphics card etc. Without that info its like asking how to fix a car without knowing if it diesel or petrol etc.

So you need to find out which audio chip, which GRX chip and on and on

So far:

- EmpireEfi (latest version 1.085) installs SL on this board without any problems

- Chameleon 2 RC3 is installed, I believe, by the Empire Efi post install

- chameleon bootlader allows me to switch booting between OSX and Windows 7, works perfectly!

- installed combo update 1.6.2

- Nvidia GeForce 250 GTS - perfromace improved after i connected my monitor to DVI port (using analog adapter), after reboot - works with all of my monitor`s resolutions, it says the correct memory amount and FrontRow is working,

- My D-Link DWL G122 wireless works perfectly with latest drivers for OSX (downloaded from the manufacturer`s site.

- I use for audio Yamaha Audiogram 6 USB unit which works perfectly and OTB.

- I used GUI Dsdt patcher to create and apply DSDT.aml, (so far I can see no difference in before & after dsdt patch, I`m completely unfamiliar with dsdt...)


Tested the performance of the system with runing demanding audio and graphics software, no glitches or errors so far, everything is runing smoothly and as it should.

It remains to find out the stuff that is "unrecognised" by the system yet.
When I run DPCI manager a get a lot of unrecognised stuff, see the screengrab bellow.

I`m quite happy as it is but would have love to fix those too... :-)
