just another screen of death with the different languages to restart the machine!

i even can not copy a clone from the install-partition to a NTFS/FAT32 or something else. not with CCC or superduper.
in my eyes its the problem of managing large files through 1052 leopard. what can i do? didnt finish the complete setup and config of the system but its even now so unstable.

please help. 1051 was more stable than 1052 rev1

amd x2 3800+ (works, 2 CPU in activity monitor but not in sysprofiler)
msi k9a with sb600 (works)
x1900xt (works)
alc883 (not working yet)

Did you try to help yourself first ?

Did you read the whole thread at insanely mac for the first release ?
Did you read all this forum ?

I don't think so ... And it's too bad because my style to help is clearly visible at Insanely or here.

You said that 10.5.1 was more stable so the easiest way to have a working installation of Leo is to reinstall it.

I've already helped a lot of people and at the same time was working on the "unstable" 10.5.2 ...

That's not enough ?

I still get kernel panics from time to time but read numerous threads here and insanelymac.

I think i'll be deleting Tiger in a few weeks. I mostly get kernel panics with Transmission

sometimes videos but not so much anymore

great release btw

just to clarify I get kernel panics less frequent. Time Machine now backs up with no hassle

LAMO, ;-O LOL. Dude, Zephyroth has worked on this release for such a long time (long hours and sweat), the least you can do is THANK him. His release has made my PC, the man in the suit, into the man that casually wears his clothes (on the Mac commercials). My PC/MAC rocks stable. Going along with what Puttabong is saying, it is not only stable as a real Mac, it is a REAL Mac (or at least than one :-) ) Zephyroth is the Apple Guru, not Steve Jobs. Zeph is the heart of our systems.

yes i did - google, irc and here

Did you read the whole thread at insanely mac for the first release ?
Did you read all this forum ?
hehe, did every one here READ ALL in here and insanely? nope, but i tried to search exactly my problems, like here:

I don't think so ... And it's too bad because my style to help is clearly visible at Insanely or here.
yep, u think wrong, and yes i know u can help, i know u do it a lot and the community like the rest of the poster in this thread are helpful... but hey, not in this case.
because someone react very very bad on zephyroth... bad xan...

You said that 10.5.1 was more stable so the easiest way to have a working installation of Leo is to reinstall it.
and again, thats not a help this is like: oh i my car is broken, instead of repairing it, i will never use it again, i have a bike now...

I've already helped a lot of people and at the same time was working on the "unstable" 10.5.2 ...
yes i know, but unfortunately ur 1. answer was not a help it was more a parody...

That's not enough ?
yes it is. thought i get some help, cause i cant see any problems i know this community is able to help. but as the most wrote, there cant be any problems, xan is a noob and he is the problem for the unstable 1052, we have no problems with the system bla bla bla...

really the best community after this thread. thanks to all who has answer me with so mutch intention to help. thanks a lot.
think about your words, and dont think i flame zeph, i just was surprise on his reaction... i didnt do anything wrong. i did not say the work was shit, i didnt say he cant do anything

xan

and by the way... i was not here from day 1, but long enough to help, spread some ideas (like IRC channel, right Puttabong?) and help there. i was quite when i had nothing to say and i ONLY wrote something when i had a question AFTER a lot of research time on my own. not like the rest of the god damn noobs who cant even understand that a board has more than the first page to look at or a search function...

i'm really pissed on such guys that only protect their god without thinking on their own... no probs with zeph and his posting but with the rest. thought we all are old enough.

Get a grip on yourself... take a long breath... then have a drink... if you smoke, have a cigarette. Then you can ask as all of them do... and not flame 2 anyone.

I started too a post here... zephyrot helped me 2 or 3 times. Then i asked again in the same post, no one answer me, i made an "up" no one answer me... but i don't flame.
I will make an "up" again and, if someone would like to give me an hand, i'll be happy, if not... i know clearly that no one here MUST waste his time or WORK here.
I'm not protecting my god, i'm only using my brain...
Have a nice time...

xan
02-27-2008, 04:12 AM
gipo, yes u use your brain. and as u see i couldnt even "up" anything. the first answer was indeed a joke.

for the rest or the topic (maybe we can get back to it)
a little copy-paste from system.log:

Feb 26 22:00:51 taz-devs-ms-7280 ReportCrash[207]: _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35
Feb 26 22:00:52 taz-devs-ms-7280 mount_fusefs[705]: _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35
Feb 26 22:00:53 taz-devs-ms-7280 mdworker[794]: _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35
Feb 26 22:00:53 taz-devs-ms-7280 mount_fusefs[830]: _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35
Feb 26 22:00:53 taz-devs-ms-7280 mount_fusefs[836]: _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35
Feb 26 22:01:10 taz-devs-ms-7280 backupd-helper[845]: _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35

and i tipp from a irc-guy: http://sneosx86.freeflux.net/blog/archive/2007/11/10/_cfgethostuuidstring-error-workaround-fix.html
how to fix it.

so i take my deep breath and help myself.

zephyroth

Damn you are really nervous ...

My first answer was the only one I could make because of your "detailled" problem.

All I know after your question is what you cannot do (copy a clone from the install-partition to a NTFS/FAT32 or something else. not with CCC or superduper.) and that your system is "unstable".

But I don't know what you have done to find some answers by yourself .(check the logs, try some "how to"s to resolve your problem)

You come here, you ask without anything else but a question and I answer without anything else but an answer ...

Like I (we) always say you must explain correctly your problem.

And if you don't want to continue this discussion just tell me and I will close this thread.

gipo

Xan.. Well... are you happy now? so you can start to teach and help others... if anyone has a problem like yours.
Where is the problem?
Anyway, for the cloning, why don't you use something like acronis true image (in windows obviously).

xan
02-27-2008, 04:39 AM
gipo didnt know that this is possible?! and i only want to make a dmg of my system. thats it. but it keeps freezing and is unstable.

@ zeph: close this thread when all problems have been fixed, cause otherwise it wouldnt be helpfull for others.

by the way: is this problem known: try to change read write rights with finder, right click on a file -> information -> at the bottom. do you get a finder crash? is this also a problem of the uuid 35 error?

so can me someone help with uuid35? is there a way to fix it 4ever, or just this workaround postet by me?

zephyroth
02-27-2008, 04:51 AM
I don't have this problem when changing the rights with Finder.

This workaround should be sufficient to solve the "error 35" definitely, but there's a file (IONetworkingFamily) that you must place under "/System/Library/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/MacOS" and which should fix this error too (I forgot where).

xan
02-27-2008, 05:01 AM
yep, dont know y but my finder crashes right away if i change read-write permission, there comes the spin and finder is gone

roisoft
02-27-2008, 05:03 AM
at the moment thereīs 2 ways for fix the error 35, the first one is adding a "phantom" device like you said before and the other way is replacing the /system/library/extensions/ionetworkingfamily.kext/contents/macos/ionetworkingfamily for this file (http://tinyurl.com/27frv7)

xan
02-27-2008, 05:05 AM
thnx, think i fixed it with the phantom device, what is the better way: phantom or file change? both workarounds?

roisoft: is this the same posted by u like above? just an installer?

"roisoft - People with time machine problems, try with this fix ___http://tinyurl.com/3bplsb"

roisoft
02-27-2008, 05:13 AM
both works great.. i still have in my system.log this error but not the problems.

edit: i donīt know
