Hi all!

Been trying to get a proper answer on this for quite some time.

Just need to know which motherboard and graphics card will be right for a straightforward USB install method for Snow Leopard please.

Can anyone let me know as soon as possible. I am already working on my GIGABYTE EX58 UD5 with a GTX 275 GPU, I have had some good and bad moments.

I use Digital Dreamer's method along with some help from Lifehackers guide as well.

I am unsure whether to use the mobo patch installer from DD's guide with or without Lifehackers patch installer for the UD3 mobo. Since I am using UD5, I have been told to replace certain files within the EXTRA folder.

I had problems on booting into Snow Leopard at times, but then when I got it working I noticed some things did not function. Things like Sleep would actually restart the system. Same goes for Logout mode.

I need to build a stable system for my brother so he can do his work on it.

He needs a powerful and fast system with good graphics for Photoshop and rendering and of course fast processing.

Since I am having bad luck with my own UD5 setup, I was wondering if Lifehackers guide for the UD3 is more stable.

But if anyone would kindly let me know if the EX58-UD5 works fine, I would be greatful on some advice.

I have been following others on their advice, but I never had good results.

Can someone please also explain the EXTRA folder to me. Is this the best method and why?

Also, within the EXTRA folder inside the USB install method; there are kexts files within the root of the folder and some other kext files within the subfolders under the title "for system" and "stored kexts".

Are these the folders where my nvidia kext and other kexts need to be or should they be dragged simply into the root folder (the main EXTRA folder)?

Lastly, if dragging kexts into the EXTRA folder; does this mean the system wil boot the next time using those kexts, or do I need to reinstall the entire OS again in order for those kexts to be installed?

Thanks
