Hey friends.

Am new to this forum and kinda new to OSX installation as well.,

Well i've bn trying for a long time to have a successfull installation for my Dell Studio 1535 Laptop. But never succeeded.

My Studio 15 Config:
T8100
3gb DDR2 667mhz ram
250gb hdd
ATI HD3450 256mb RAM

Following are my motherboard Chipsets (do let know if more details are needed for it):

When i try to boot using -v, -f, etc etc.. it just stucks at the bootup where it tries to load loads of things. (kernel, etc etc)

Kindly Help me.. Thanks in advance.

Try to find out which chipsets your motherboard uses. Add them to your post and maybe to your title as you may get more responses.

What are chipsets?
You can use your motherboard as an example. It generally should have whats called a Northbridge & Southbridge chipset. The Northbridge deals with your CPU, RAM & Graphics and your Southbridge deals with the rest (hard drives, usb, expansion slots)

Signature
You can also place this information in your "Signature". It will then appear on every post you make. Please keep your signatures reasonably sized. We do not want to see full page specs. Edit your signature here: http://www.infinitemac.com/faq.php?faq=vb3_user_profile#faq_vb3_signatures_av atars

^ Thanks for guiding me with the required information.

I've posted a screenie of my Motherboard Chipsets.. Northbridge and the Southbridge. Please let know if anything more is needed.

2ndly, i guess if am not wrong, Dell uses same chipsets for the same product line throughout the world.

The reason, i did come across videos and articles where ppl are able to install iPC on my Dell Studio 1535 and works flawlessly.. although some where with Onboard GFX and some with ATI like mine.

Waiting for the replies. Thanks in advance once again.

just to let you know, you won't be able to get that video card to work... sorry i had the 3450, but it wasn't the mobility version, and nothing would make it work

Well ppl have got the same laptop as mine to work successfully. + If i boot from the DVD w/o using -v or -x or -f.. am able to get the Apple logo and then get the setup wizard and also able to install the OSX, BUT it wont give any options or install any kinda drivers. It does boot into the Mac OSX after installation, but no video or so, it wont recognize my laptop keyboard / mouse. Only external USB keyboard mouse works. I get display but no display drivers are installed hence no native resolution. No Sound no WIFI, etc etc.

...Further help??
