Hi,
I have spent hours trying to fix this, with no luck, so now I'm turning to you guys for help.
I have managed to put together a nice PC, running Snow Leopard 10.6 using the excellent G31M turtorial (http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/guide-retail-snow-leopard-dvd-install-for-g31m-t3672/)
Everything is working well except for the sound (which I'm not worried about at the mo) and the ethernet (which I REALLY need).
I have the Gigabyte G31M ES2L Rev 2 motherboard, and was aware that the onboard ethernet wouldn't work.
So I bought a StarTech NIC and stuck it in. It shows up fine on the hardware list, but shows as 'failed' in the network area.
I have been told by Startech that the Rtl8139 driver should work for Leopard (although maybe not snow leopard). But no joy yet.
Does anyone have a driver/kext that I could use for my NIC (driver RTL8139)?
And if it involves any terminal work, can you please explain it in simple terms as I'm a terminal beginner!
Thanks in advance!
