View Full Version : 10.5.1 Firewire before booting

Ok so im trying o install 10.5.1 but before i reach the instalation the computer restarts, the last line is the firewire security thing.
Also, i tried installing iATKOS with AMD patch, and i success installing it, but got the same problem AFTER installing, i couldnt even get to single user mode, but.....in my tiger instalation i changed the kernel mach_blabla file...and system, ata and other kexts and it wont reboot anymore, but Im still getting the firewire error.
So i think, when trying to install Zephyroth 10.5.1, and getting the firewire issue, it must have nothing to do with the firewire, but, i dont know any clues?

Ya, I've had that happen on installation attempts also. It's doing a BUNCH of other things just after you see the "defaulting to full secure" message. But, it's not a very good sign - I don't remember being successful if it always hung there. You need to list all of your hardware specs though (down to the chipsets)... Maybe someone will have an idea.

Hi again, so now i downloaded the 10.5.2 release, im at leopard atm, working all fine, i had to delete NV*.kext to boot it, now i copied the kexts i used on tiger (hope it works..) But, i cant boot tiger now D: (i installed the EFI, i dont know if it has something to do) Also, at "about this mac" I cant view "more info" and the processor is unknown. I have audio and lan working though.
Specs:
Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI
A64 3000+ Winchester core SSE2
4gb DDR1 Ram
4 HDD (2 sata, 2 ide)
I guess thats the only thing it will matter. anyway ill reboot the system now, hope video drivers work D:! If not, ill go back to windows and try to fix this! =P

Ok posting here again, ok i got video working 1400*900, I can view "more info" now (System profiler" But im not getting QE, any clues?
Nvidia 6800XT 512DDR3
I tried Inject and Natit (natit work on tiger) i cant get QE working.
Also, any clues why my Tiger instalation isnt working?
Isn't the Firewire security warning normal? I always had this but have a working install. Except I do have Firewire audio related probs, electrical noises every few seconds when I use the preamps on my audio interface.

yea its normaal, as i said it is working now, but my Tiger instalation is fucked up now QQ
