After literally days and days of trying, I finally have a working dual-boot setup with Win7 and OS X 10.5.5 on separate partitions of the same hard drive. I have a Toshiba Satellite L505, Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T6500 @ 2.10Ghz, Intel GMA4500MHD, Southbridge 82801M (ICH9-M) chipset.
Final working method was to use GParted to create a Win7/FAT partition, and an OSX/HFS+ partition. Used my Toshiba restore discs to install Vista on Win7 partition to computer's out-of-box state without disturbing existing partitions. Then used iDeneb 10.5.5 to install Leopard on OSX partition. Got neverending Apple registration loop, quit to Terminal and did the recommended terminal-fu, rebooted and all was well. Inserted Win7 Upgrade DVD, performed clean install of Win7 over Vista on Win7 partition, then installed EasyBCD and added OSX to list. Voila!
So. Sound doesn't work. Networking doesn't work. Only have 1 video resolution, which is wrong but usable. None of these are deal-breakers; I just want to be able to use Xcode on the laptop. Unfortunately, I need 10.6.2 to run latest Xcode.
So, my question is, can I use my paid-for retail Snow Leopard DVD to upgrade my iDeneb 10.5.5 installation, or is that going to hose everything up? I really don't savvy the whole EFI / Chameleon world, but if that's the best (only?) way to get what I need, then I'll give it a try (although it appears that there is not an EFI partition on the hard drive, which I suppose presents a problem).
I am a complete newbie in this particular arena, so any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
