Hi,

First of all, i'm new to this forum.
After a lot of research on the internet about apple OS i finaly decided to give it a try and install it on my computer.

First i tried to install it in windows 7 using vmware.
This working nicely, and didn't have any trouble.
Now, I made a bootable Thumbdrive (16Gb ) with the OS installer on it.
It boots fine, no problems at all
I had made a separate Partition just for OSX, and wanted to make dual boot later.
But when i press install, it starts to install, but in a while, my dvd player opens and closes.
at 15 / 20 % it gives me the following message :
"Installer could not validate the contents of the 10.5.7.intel packing"

I've searched the whole internet :p but i can't find any articles related to this problem, or how to solve it.
I've read it is possible to install OSX from a thumbdrive, but mine just keep searching for a dvd?
Computer specs :
mainboard : Asus Striker Extreme
CPU : Q6600
Memory : 4Gb OCZ
Graphics Card : Ati Radeon HD4890
Hdd : 320 Gb Seagate Barracuda
: 1.5 Tb Seagate Barracuda
Soundcard :Sounblaster X-FI Fatal1ty edition

I hope someone can help.
Greetings, Chris

OK, i tried to install iAtkos v7 from a dvd.
The strange thing is, now the installer doesn't even start, and when i'm using the -V option, it says "still waiting for root device".
So.... the usb disk install recognizes my Nforce controller and if i boot from dvd it doesn't.
I'm using a sATA dvd player.
someone can help me to get osx working on my system ?

Greetings, Chris

I am recieving the same problems. i am not sure why it is running into this issue. i have burned iAtkos V7 DVD 3 times so far, at the lowest speeds possible, and am having issues now with the system just freezing up before getting to the install screen. I checked the MD5 hash with the one in the file and it matches up.

Any help or suggestions of what to try would be awesome.

Thanks in advance

I've searched on some forums again for this problem.
It seems the 680I chipset is not verry compatible with the drivers from osx.
I even tried to re-setup my disk cabinet, putting my dvd-rom at sATA 1, the disk with the parttition where osx have to be installed at sATA 2, etc.
But even that won't work out.
Going to do some more research on the boot flags to use.

I finaly get it to work :)
Made a new thumbdrive with VMware (Macosx)
Booted from the drive, and it started.
Klicked all correct drivers i needed, and pressed install :P
And......... kernel panic
Tried again after some research, and tried the bootflag maxmem=2048
Now the install was complete!! :D
Rebooting, starting osx, and it runs fine.
The only problem i have now is : No internet.
Tried all the drivers i could find on the internet to get it working, but nothing works.
I tried ForcedEth.kext, etc, but my network cards keep saying : No cable plugged in.

Can you find any more information about your hardware? And did the Realtek1000 kext not work?
