Hi
Can anyone help me install Snow Leopard onto my Dell Inspiron 531 Desktop (AMD Athlon X2 64). I have tried several install discs, but always get the "still waiting for root device" error before the installer loads. After browsing around I notice that this seems to be a problem with my SATA HDD (I have tried all BIOS configs possible). I have come across a guide "Modbin's Snow AMD Kernel - EFI USB Install" which is http://www.ihackintosh.com/2009/09/install-snow-leopard-106-on-amd-pc-hackintosh/ (http://www.ihackintosh.com/2009/09/install-snow-leopard-106-on-amd-pc-hackintosh/). Can anyone tell me if it is possible for me to do this on a USB external hard drive and boot my dell like this. If not, can anyone provide a better way to do this as this seems to be a tough machine to get OS X installed on! Although I see some people are running snow leopard on a dell inspiron 531 so it must be possible.
All help would be greatly appreciated.
