Just to give you a little background on my graphics issues, here's my config:
Gigabyte UD3P, DSDT via stellarola v3, 9400 CPU
eVga 9800GT 1GB DDR3 HDMI out

Everything was working great on both 10.6 and 10.6.1 but with blue screen issues on startup and resolution change, but then after update to 10.6.2 I got no signal on my TV. Tried to fix in 10.6.2 using EFI, DTST patching, inject with multiple kext, nothing worked. So after I rolled it all back and stuck with 10.6.1 I will still left with the nagging issue of the blue screen.

I have 2 work arounds, the second one being more of a solution to the problem.

1) Sleep work around
I found that when I got the bluescreen I could get out of it after a resolution change by putting the computer to sleep (assuming that is working on your hackintosh) and then waking it up. To do this without seeing the screen use ctrl-F2 and then hit the down arrow 9 times (option-cmd-eject if you have a mac keyboard) then enter. Then use your power button to wake it up and you should have your desktop view back with your new resolution.

2) The real solution
Many people have said this issue is likely due to setting the active monitor to the main display that isn't connected. After a little testing I have comfirmed that and just plugging in the DVI (the main on my card) out to an extra monitor solved the problem.

So the work around is to plug in a dummy DVI connector into the first (main) connector on the video card so it acts like this second monitor but doesn't have to be there. See a guide here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3293052). I had a DVI to VGA converter and a few 100ohm resistors sitting around and put it all together with great results. The only downside is that I leave it plugged in all of the time so I don't see any of the boot screens because the card uses that dummy DVI as the monitor, quick to unplug if I need to debug though, so it hasn't been an issue.

So if your setup is having this annoying blue screen issue give this a try.
