I've made some new kexts that allow you to use Apple's AppleUSBHIDMouse.kext or AppleUSBHIDMouse.kext.
All you need to do is replace 4x the USB Vendor and USB Device entries with the decimal value of your keyboard or mouse and install them.
They will then after reboot ensure you are using Apple's kexts (which work much better).
I also created one to fake iSight camera... same procedure...

Enjoy...

This is awesome Andy, thanks a lot!

I planned to recompile HIDController in aim to modify accel. table, or disable it totally. I failed and then I had no time to continue messing with it. I will test usb mouse and report back. If the curve is just a bit near to what i need, then this, my last OSX issue, is finally solved ;-)

Forget to post a screenshot of the Mouse prefPane...
It will be identical to when you have an Apple USB mouse plugged in...
Also this is how it recognizes my Dell (Logitech ic) mouse:

Apple Optical USB Mouse:

Productcode: 0x0304
Fabrikantcode: 0x05ac (Apple Inc.)
Versie: 1.10
Snelheid: Maximaal 1,5 Mb/sec
Fabrikant: Primax Electronics
Locatiecode: 0x3d200000
Beschikbare stroom (mA): 500
Vereiste stroom (mA): 100

It's thanks to the AppleUSBMergeNub entries...

Yes, working just great. I'm using it now on my Macbook with Logitech VX nano wireless ;-) I don't like logitech's driver.

Nice work! Confirmed working with my logitech laser mouse and my laptop's Suyin webcam. One minor glitch; scrolling DOWN on the mouse repeatedly will occasionally result in the cursor jumping down also, sometimes following a physical upwards movement.
