I would like to report, that ASUS N61VG almost 100% compatible.

With EMpire EFI and retail disk i successfully instaled SL on this machine.
Both cores are working.

Works:

- 2 cpu with vanilla kernel
- keyboard, touchad (VoodooPS2)
- audio (VoodooHDA 32&64bit with CrackleFix (http://www.kexts.com/view/188-voodoohda_32amp;64bit_with_cracklefix.html))
- VGA: Nvidia 220m works, qa/ci enabled with 1333x768, hdmi, dual screen with dvi2hdmi cable
- SD card reader
- webcam (CNF7129) image shows upside down
- two finger scroll
- WIFI (replaced with BCM94311MCG Wireless 802.11BG MINI PCI-E Card)
- LAN (AR9285)

Not works:

- VGA out (if external monitor is connected, laptop display turns off (black screen), but nothing happens)
- 2nd card reader
- multitouch partially works

Not tested:
- eSATA

Any questions are welcome. If I can help for you or you need a more detailed install walk-through, pls write.

If anyone have experiences the problems listed above, pls write me.

Thanks to Prasys, Netkas, Tamás Kosársky, InfiniteMay, InsanelyMac, osx86.hu and Apple to give us chance to use osx.

Nice one. How about sleep? I'm on an Asus G60Vx, which I believe has a very similar if not identical bios. I can get sleep to work, but it freezes at waking up - the panel never lights up but the lights on the keyboard do. No response, need a hard reset.

Sleep does not work in my machine. As I know it can be fixed with some dsdt moifications but did not have success yet.

Happy Labor Day!

Hailing from my retail install of SL 10.6.3....curious...if anyone else with an Asus laptop has been experiencing faster than usual fanspeed and/or clock? If so, how did you fix?

Hi
I've just installed and updated mac osx to 10.6.8, and I was looking for a list of the files you needed to get all the components working (and a short set of instructions if that's not too much to ask :)).

The main things for me are video card (and output, either HDMI or VGA) and sound.

Thanks,
