Update mac os 10.5.7 to 10.6.2

i have recently installed iAktos v7 on my laptop which i believe is
mac os x 10.5.7. i need to update it to mac os x 10.6.2 in order to run
the software i need. can anybody help us out im not sure how to go about updating it.

You will need to download a Snow Leopard distro and do a fresh install. Upgrading is NOT recommended. Just remember...only install Snow Leopard by booting the installer from the DVD or by installing Snow Leopard to another HD from an existing Snow Leopard install (just remember to select the right disk to install to if you do that!).
