hi guys , I successfully installed iatkos S3 on my amilo li3710 laptop with the following:

Intel® Celeron® processor T3000 (1.80 GHz, 1 MB, 800 MHz)
Intel® GL40, ICH 9-M
Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M
Realtek ALC 662 HDA
3 GB (2 module(s) with 1 GB and 2 GB, DDR2), 667 MHz
320 GB SATA HDD
SATA DVD burner

1) for GMA 4500M chipset , I installed only Efi string , if you install natite enabler , it will crash , I did not install any drivers and then I patched the AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext and AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext , which were in the /System/Library/Extensions folder , removed extensions.mkext and repair the permissions. This procedure gave me 1366 x 768 resolution , as I have with windows.

2) the wired and the wireless lan do not work , but I have a usb level one gigabit ethernet adaptor , which works , but the speed is limited to 12 mbps , not bad though.

3) my laptop keyboard works and the external usb mouse too.

4) the dvd burner works also , so does my usb sticks.

5) My only problem is realtek ALC 662 HDA , which doesn't wor......

P.S: Problem solved , the new Voodoo HDA v.0.2.6 and it works great!

Ramstein-America!

this distro was the only working one with my laptop , I tried all the other (ideneb , kalyway, snow osx , iPC , iatkos v7 e.t.c and none off them worked).

How do you remove extensions.mkext, where do you find it?

it is in a folder called Caches , which is located into /System/Library folder.

you can also activate the wired LAN using the installation application in the REALTEK website for RTL8102E (SL).
