I am about to receive the XO 1.5 or "OLPC" , This new version has a new processor, thats why I brought this topic up, The original XO was only 400mhz and had no SSE2 or SSE3 support, But the new XO 1.5 has both SSE2 and SSE3 support and a processor that is twice as fast, I am also asuming this thing can be overclocked to 1Ghz ( I previously overclocked the original XO to 566Mhz).

So basically I was thinking..... Tiger on the XO 1.5 anyone?

The reason I say Tiger is that the internal Nand flash memory is only 4GB, but an SDHC card can be used, there are two SDHC slots on the XO 1.5, one internal and one external.

Problems.....

How to boot OSx86 from openfirmware?

Comments and any thoughts about this idea are most appreciated.

Occording to Wikipedia the OpenFirmware allows to boot from SD Card or USB media, I would recommend you using that way of method as 4GB is very few - even for use with Tiger.

The VIA C7M microprocessor itself should be able to fake beeing a GenuineIntel - I du not know if the OF allows using that feature...

Marvell Wifi Chip won't work with OS X...

Well wifi insen't everything....But my problem as I stated before is booting OSX86 from open firmware, It isn't just tell the system where to boot from, you have to direct it to a certain file. I think it might be easier if the OLPC group had stayed with the "LinuxBios" or what it is called now "CoreBoot".
