okay, so i got a dell dimension 8200 from my granddad, and i decided to try OS X on it because it is an intel processor, unlike my AMD, which i never did get going. it worked like a charm, but i kept selecting the wrong stuff, cuz it wouldnt boot. so i said screw it and installed EVERYTHING. it booted, and now its running reliably. no more kernel panics since i got rid of the voodoopower kext. i even have internet on it. however, it has no drivers for video or sound. here are the specs:

Processor: Pentium 4 2.8GHz
Memory: 1GB (soon to be 2GB)
Video: 256MB ATI Radeon x800 XT AGP
Device ID: 4a4b
Vendor ID: ATI (0x1002)
Revision ID: 0x0000
for some reason hardware info X (CPUZ mac version) is showing 2 video cards.. R420 JK (Radeon X800) and R420 (Radeon X800) (secondary). any idea about that??
and this is picking up the AGP bridge, but the OS sees the agp as PCI... and when i install AGPGart i get a 'ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin: :start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPower Management) timed out error and it doesnt boot. it WOULD boot in safe mode though.
Audio: Cirrus Logic CS 4614 /22/24/30 (CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accellerator)
if anyone has any advice or knowledge, id greatly appreciate it. even a simple 'get XXX video card and XX sound card, your hardware isnt supported' would be nice. im planning a dual boot here very soon with either Xp or 7. thanks everyone, your the best.
Nick

okay, so I took apart the computer to hook up the other hard drive for windows, and wouldnt ya know, the card is an all in wonder x800. not compatible huh?
and i never did get windows installed... im guessing its because i have the hard drive jumped as a slave, not on cable select. more to come later about that.
one more thing: i pulled out the sound card and replaced it with a Sound Blaster LIVE! EMU10K1, which ive been reading isnt compatible... what a waste.
