so i managed to get my AMD Athlon running on OS X Leopard using iDeneb. i ended up disconnecting both SATA drives and using an IDE hard drive and DVD drive. installed. and is now running perfectly, all drivers loaded, except the network card, which I have read is not compatible with OS X (Netgear WG311v3 PCI wireless adapter), and my video card, which is an XFX Geforce 7950GT 512MB PCI-E.
I have tried everything I can think of. Natit supposedly doesnt work, so I have not tried that. However, I did try titan the first time before i screwed up my bootloader (long story..) and it didnt do anything. I found a page on insanelymac about injecting a EFI string, and even found a handy dandy utility on there to do the hard work for me on that one. (like an EFI string is hard with EFIStudio..) I now have dual monitors working flawlessly, along with full resolutions on both, and refresh rates. However, still no QE/CI.
I have read about flashing the rom; however, that seems way too risky. I have a geforce 7600 PCI-E 256MB card laying around somewhere that supposedly is compatible, but i dont want to downgrade, since i dual boot with windows 7 and play games.
any and all advice is welcome!! please im tearing my hair out with this! is this a lost cause?

all day, many views, and no response yet? i KNOW i'm not the only one with this problem!!!
just tried natit dual 2.0. didnt crash me, im booted into OS X. (had to buy a new USB wireless) however i don't have QE/CI. i used osx86 tools to enable quartsGL, and that shows as being enabled, but i cant even play a DVD.

Seriously, no response? Am i alone here? Obviously not because i can see the views going up.
For the record I looked in windows and my card is running the cuda openGL drivers.

Actually have you heard of graphicsenabler? You have to download chameleon 2 RC4 (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=201850) install of course and add
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>yes</string>
to your com.apple.Boot.plist and get full QE/CI, if this doesn't make QE/CI work tell me and i will need to edit your dsdt to get graphics enabler working. Cheers.

Sorry for the delay... Been a bit busy. I got qe/ci working by putting in a 7900 256mb. But I needed the 512mb 7950 for a game I play in windows, so I put that back in and changed the id's and it crashed the hack. So I reloaded, and am still in the same situation.
I use chameleon v2. And I use leopard, not snow leopard. Snow leopard doesn't run on my system, so I am sticking with leopard. I will try graphics enabler tonight. Thanks for the advice!
Oh, and I put a string in, using a string package for nvidia cards, and it gives me a black screen at boot, sometimes with a live cursor, sometimes nothing.

okay so i tried graphics enabler and that didnt work. tried graphics mode = the resolution i need, and it doesnt work. the vesa doesnt even support this monitors native resolution. its a 22 inch widescreen.
and about sending the dsdt file, how would i do that?
i just noticed you have to insert the plist commands at boot.. i was just doing GraphicsEnabler=Yes at the chameleon bootscreen, and wasnt working. will try it and reply back,.

Okay edited the com.apple.boot.plist, no change. Edited the geforce kexts, and added in nvenabler, edited it with my pci I'd, 0295, repaired permissions, rebooted, I get a blue screen for a couple seconds, then it goes black with a live cursor.
Is leopard just not compatible with the 7950 512mb card?
Looking in the snow leopard kexts, the pci I'd is in the kexts, so I'm thinking of trying snow leopard again. I uninstalled it because it would boot with a ioatacontrollerdevice blocking bus error. Though It did come up once but was very glitchy.
Any ideas? And about editing dsdh, how?

ok update. i got resolutions working, and the card is being read as 512MB by the OS. i used NVInstaller V.41. at first i kept kernel panicing, then i booted into windows and typed in the panic. people on boards said to remove geforce.kext but not nvdaresman. so i did, and voila, i have full display support. only thing missing is QE/CI. any idea what my issue may be?

Thanks for the response, but the card finally blew it's cookies. Forgot about this thread or I would have updated. Though I can say snow leopard supports the 7950GT natively. Chameleon rc5 beginning with r643 supports it just by graphicsenabler=y
