Boot stops at "ApplePIIXATA .. Still waiting for root device" Message

I installed iDeneb 10.5.8 but after booting it stops saying "AppleIntelPIIXPATA: 80-conductor cable not detected on primary channel ... still waiting for root device" along with a clicking noise in my HDD ...

Specifications :-

GA-G31M-ES2L(Mobo)
Intel PentiumD 820
2GB 667MHz DDR2 (Transcend)
Seagate Baracuda 250GB SATA
RTL 8139C PCI Ethernet Card

Any solutions ??? Please HELP !!!

pls get a sata dvdrw and try installing , this should solve ur problems 100% .
