I have an Acer Aspire 6930 laptop with a fresh install of Snow Leopard and updated to 10.6.4. I also have two 24" external monitors. I am using EFI strings to get full resolution. The laptop has a hdmi port and a vga port. When I plug one monitor into either the hdmi or vga port I can get dual screens with the one external monitor and the laptop display. What I want is for the laptop screen to be turned off and have both the 24" monitors on. When I plug both the external monitors in and start up the computer, all the monitors stay black.
I know the laptop can handle having two external monitors plugged in because I tried it with Windows 7 and it worked just fine (but I would rather not go back to Windows...)
I tried getting rid of the EFI strings and then replaced it with NVEnabler64.kext but that didn't seem to help. Any thoughts?
Does anyone know if you can have two external monitors working with a mac laptop?
