I currently have a Gigabyte EP43-DS3L motherboard, and lightning has put it on it's deathbed. It's getting worse and worse. I've tried installing OSXx86 several times before on this motherboard, but none of the different distros have been cutting the mustard. I suspect it's just my motherboard.

So since I'm upgrading the motherboard like... now, which one should I get? I'm looking for one that can be had without any fuss from Newegg or Amazon (maybe TigerDirect), and I'm tired of fighting it, so are there any newer boards that work fairly flawless with OSX86? I know the P35 Gigabyte boards seemed to do well, but those can't be had retail anymore.

Here's what I have, and maybe you can make suggestions:

Core 2 Duo
Radeon 4890
Creative X-FI Fatal1ty sound
8 GB DDR2 1066 memory

In my own opinion, I prefer Asus over Gigabyte, with Asus there is very little DSDT modification to get perfect hackintosh, No CMOS reset bug likes Gigabytes, with Gigabytes there are a lots bug to fix DSDT, and the energy safer feature in Gigabyte isn't save much(just several hundreds watts over a month ) and it is pretty annoying, it need a software to turn it on, and if Pc shutdown/crash, it need to be turned on.
I would recommend you to choose Asus main-boards matching any version here for highly perfect build.

I personally feel u should wait cos the next trend is efi based motherboards , so if u r in urgent requirement then go for asus or wait till gigabyte or asus launches efi based motherboards (u will get near perfect hackintosh).
wait if u can or go for latest asus p5e boards (pls buy a sata dvdrw to avoid jmicron kp)
gud luck
